OLD NEWS

 8/12                   Getting Closer!

 As Sharpy said, the server is said to be opened on Sunday, August 17, 2008, the day before I take my week-long AFK.

To be safe, Sharpy has given me the deadline of completing the map by this Friday.

Now that it's Tuesday, I could safely say the map is going fine. A lot has changed since the map began in late November 2007. Between then and now, there's a been a lot going on too - the supposedly endless cycle of "yeah, I don't feel like mapping anymore" and "okay fine. I'll do work on it for a bit". Ever since I showed this to the community here at Arcadia Gaming, I've been getting the support (and pressure. You know who you are xD) that I need to push the map to its completion.

So a big thanks to the supporters (and those who pressure me to do this).

 6/21                   Updates

 It's been a while since the last update, but here it goes. A lot has been going on lately, a lot of negative things. The SA:MP server is failing... miserably... and because of that I plan to take it down. I'll hold onto all of the scripts and everything for the possibility of getting SA:MP scripters in the future to work on it. On a good note, the TSRP map is coming along very nicely. Once that map is finished we'll be opening up a TSRP server that will hopefully do better than the SA:MP server did. On another good note, I plan on dumping this boring website layout. Which means, I need a webmaster. I need someone that can design a cool website template for the new website. Also, with this new website, we'll be trashing the trashy "freeforums" and getting a nice new PHPBB forums. So this new webmaster will have to be good at this. They will need to be able to make a template for the website and the forums. So if anyone is interested, please contact me on xfire as soon as possible.

  5/20               The time is now!

    As of 9:40 pm EST, the first official server of Arcadia Gaming has been purchased. Our GTA:SA server will be up within a few days, ready to play. I hope you all are ready for the fun. I'll keep you all updated on the situation. Be sure to check the 'News' page after each update, you never know what messages you may have missed.

  5/12      Community Changes

 Here are some pretty big changes that are affecting this community. Currently, there is a custom The Specialists map being made by one of our members. Once this is finished I will be purchasing a The Specialists server that will run this custom map. Expect this to become more real in June. In addition, I have been thinking about opening up a Counter-Strike chapter of the community. A few friends of mine have a clan that would most likely become the CS clan of the community. Maybe after a while they will get their own server as well. But to get to the more recent news, this week I will be purchasing a GTA SA:MP server for the community. So this time there won't be any unexpected shutdowns the day after we open the server. Expect that on Friday. That's all the news I have for now, but keep your eyes open.

  5/04                       Uh-oh

  Well, something happened and now none of the servers are working. It may be a little while before I figure this out and get the servers operational. Don't worry, we'll figure this out. If anyone thinks they can help, please do contact me over Xfire.

 5/03           Grand Opening!

  That's right, the server is officially up and running. The IPs of both the SA:MP Server and the Ventrilo Server can be found to the right. The server was off to a pretty rough start with a minimal amount of players online. Looks like the rest of us need to wake up and join the game! You're already falling behind. We already have two players that have reached level 2. So wake up and get a taste of that GTA Fever!

5/01                 Good News!

   After tonights server test it's become official. Tomorrow will be the grand opening of Arcadia Gamings' SA:MP Server! So far all is looking fine in the order of the script. Now all we need is people to play on the server. So I expect everyone to be on tomorrow just waiting for the server to be launched. I'll make sure to give everyone a heads up before I do launch it. The servers IP will most likely be as follows : 69.123.85.171:7777. Along with the SA:MP server, will be the opening of our very own Ventrilo server, with the same IP of course (except the "7777" will be a "3784"). I hope we all know how to get the correct Ventrilo client. You can find it yourself inside the forums, or you can go to the "Downloads" page and click the direct link there. I'd like to wish everyone luck for their future characters on the server, and if you happened to play on a test server today, you will be keeping the stats you built up. The rest of you will be starting fresh. Think of it as a bonus for being here and helping me test the server.

Welcome home, mon! 

  I'm finally back. Some of you may have noticed I was missing and did not know where I was. But, I was away for a week on vacation in wonderful Aruba. Man, was it nice there. Anyway, I'm finally back and you should all expect more updates and server tests in the upcoming week.

 As of late, we have been holding open beta tests for the server pretty much every night. This means that anyone can join and get a sneak peek at the server. To join in on one of these tests, make sure to be on xfire and you will be contacted when a test is about to start.

 Due to recent complications, I will most likely be taking over the upkeep of the main website for reasons that will not be mentioned. Be sure to expect updates with news more often, and keep an eye out for that one special message.

  I fixed the news thing that was going on with the site. Someone keeps bugging me about a 404 error that people keep getting, but res assured it's nothing on my end, but it's the server's load. Try refreshing your browser or better yet clearing cookies. I'll try for a work around.

 Sup guys. Fixed the forums (awhile ago) and due to a VPN/SQL/Trojan Keylogger attack I shut down everything with the name AG in it. But, I think I fixed it, so it should all be good. Anywho, in the next few weeks expect a early server beta to take place. In the meantime, keep the forums alive ;).

 Well, I'm a smart one. Due to funding issues I was forwarding the forums to the website. And, if you were coming from the forums, got redirected here it is apperent that I fucked up. Please note the forums will be back up soon, and I hope that I can actually get some money so I don't have to do this all the hard way. Thanks in advance.

Hello again. I'm rather pleased to announce that our website is now almost completely operational. All we have to do now is set up the on site forums and we're good to go. Unfortunately, it is rather expensive to get a FTP host all set up, and we aren't exactly in the fortune 500. So, in the mean time we have set up the secondary forums for your viewing pleasure. I hope we can continue to grow and expand than we already have and become a super power in the gaming field.
